Origin:Spectrolite, the most valued type of labradorite, comes from Finland. The name is derived from Labrador, Canada which is the main source of the stone.

Color: It is a feldspar which displays strong iridescence when cut correctly and the value increases with the skill of the lapidary and the strength of the labradorescense.

Hardness: It is a 6-6.5 on the MOHS scale.
